Sale Quantities: Varieties marked "LIMIT 1" - one per household per season. Customers that do not respect these limit are subject to order cancellation.
Shipping: Orders of 1-5 tubers ship for $12. Orders of 6+ tubers ship for $18.
We ship out as soon as the path to you looks reasonably freeze free. I try to get everything out the door in April, weather permitting. Due to agriculture restrictions, we are unable to ship to Hawaii or outside of the US.
Combined Shipping: Combined shipping is available if you place multiple spring shipped orders. Use code COMBINESHIP after you have paid for shipping on your first order to receive a $12 shipping discount. If you apply this code to your first order, you'll be contacted for shipping payment or have your order cancelled.
Receipt of Damaged Tubers: Inspect your tubers immediately on arrival. If your tubers were damaged during shipment, please send us an email with photos within 48 hours of receipt.
Stock Failure: In an effort not to oversell, we only list tubers that have visible eyes and firm bodies. If a variety in your order unexpectedly becomes unavailable before shipping, you will be notified. Buyers will be given the option to cancel the entire order or only the unavailable items, but you MUST respond to your notification email within 48 hours. If you do not respond, we will only refund the unavailable item(s).
Virus Practices & Policy: According to the American Dahlia Society, over 80% of dahlias are infected with one or more viruses. This is an unfortunate reality of enjoying dahlia blooms. We take the following measures to minimize the spread of viruses:
- Cull and dispose of any stock that appears symptomatic or generally underperforms
- Soak snips in bleach solution between plants
- Deter insects with the Brix method and by releasing successions of beneficial insects
Despite these measures, we are unable to offer a virus-free guarantee and we do not issue refunds for stock that appears symptomatic in your field.
Gall Prevention Practices and Policy: The bacteria that cause crown gall and leafy gall infect many plants, both wild and cultivated, and can be lurking in soil, compost, and runoff. We take the following steps to minimize the spread of gall and ensure we are not shipping infected stock:
- All tubers and cuttings are sourced from reputable growers and grown on farm a minimum of one growing season.
- We do not source from or resell tubers from wholesalers or other farms.
- Our compost is homemade and we do not add plant matter that could harbor the bacteria.
- Any symptomatic stock is culled and destroyed. Plants immediately adjacent are also destroyed, and plants surrounding those are quarantined for at least one full year if not more. Any beds that see infection are not replanted for at least 2 years.
- Shovels and snips are sanitized with bleach solution between plants.
- All stock is inspected in the fall, winter inventory, and before shipping.
In the unlikely event your tuber shows any symptoms of leafy or crown gall within 30 days of receipt, please immediately let us know. After 30 days and introduction to your environment, we do not issue refunds.
Tuber Quality: As a small business, your satisfaction is extremely important to us. We only ship firm tubers with visible eyes, but please note that tubers come in all shapes and sizes. Sometimes they may have cut ends or nicks that have cured over. We try to note the chronically small or thin varieties so you are not surprised, but appearance has no impact on viability.
Glass House Flower Farm is not responsible for dahlia performance factors outside of our control, including improper storage or planting, or insect or rodent damage.
Refund Policy: We offer refunds for unanticipated stock losses on our end, tubers damaged in transit, and tubers that get mixed up and are not true to variety. We will offer a replacement where possible.
